Purpose: 

The Information Technology Support Specialist is responsible for maintaining and deploying desktop and site infrastructure. This includes installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading computers and infrastructure equipment to ensure optimal workstation and network performance. The Information Technology Specialist works under the general guidance and direction of, and reports directly to the IT Manager, Solutions and Service Delivery.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist in managing the Company’s Information Technology System.
  • Assist in managing the Company’s network.
  • Add new users and remove users from Company Information Technology Systems.
  • Support use of Information Technology Systems.
  • Support Information Technology applications.
  • Acquire and configure Information Technology hardware and systems.
  • Assist the VP of Information Technology as required.
  • Serve as front line support to computer users.
  • Provide on-going operational support including operating systems releases, upgrades, service pack installations, bug fixes, security updates, and other related maintenance/support activities.
  • Configure and set up new computers, using imaging software or otherwise.
  • Administer Office 365 accounts.
  • Support the installation and maintenance of infrastructure equipment such as SDWAN routers, switches, WAPs, Cameras
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and tune devices.
  • Ensure excellent follow-up communications and timely issue status updates to customer and IT management.
  • Troubleshoot problem areas (in person, by telephone, or via e-mail) quickly and accurately, and provide end-user assistance where required.
  • Identify solutions for device management and security.
  • Identify current operational process inefficiencies and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Network with cross-functional teams to leverage best practices.
  • Create and update documentation (FAQs, User guides, Standard Operating Procedures, Knowledgebase) for IT-supported services.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Understand infrastructure components such as routers, switches, WAPs, and racks.
  • Proven Customer Service skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication.
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated, self-starter, and maintains a positive attitude.

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum 4-year degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of related hands-on IT experience, supporting users in a fast-paced environment.
  • Microsoft certifications (MCSA, MCSE) preferred.
  • Experience working in a multi-site environment
